Meet Mr. Cyprian Emeka Uzoh, a United States-based Nigerian originally from Anambra State. He is the father-in-law of the renowned Apple tech inventor, Dr. Jeofery Kibuule. Mr. Uzoh is recognized among the most notable inventors in the US.

Regarded as a computing genius, Cyprian Uzoh profoundly impacted the tech world with his revolutionary inventions.

With Nigerian roots, Cyprian Uzoh boasts of holding over 126 patents in the United States and more than 160 globally in semiconductor technology. He has co-authored more than 35 publications, and his remarkable achievements have earned him numerous international awards.

In 2006, he was honoured as the “Inventor of the Year” for his patent on the “Manufacturing process of electrolytic interconnection structures on an integrated circuit chip” (USPTO 6.709.562). This patent, USPTO 6.709.562, stands out as one of the most crucial in the semiconductor science and technology domain.

Cyprian Emeka Uzoh is often heralded as the primary pioneer in modern high-performance copper interconnection technologies.

He played a pivotal role in discovering, developing, and collaboratively implementing the essential technologies that led to the successful adoption of copper interconnection technology at IBM Corporation and across the semiconductor industry. This innovation marked the introduction of copper in chip manufacturing, signifying a monumental shift.

Furthermore, the introduction of galvanoplasty technology in the semiconductor sector is credited to Cyprian Emeka Uzoh.

It’s worth noting that IBM adopted this technology in the late 1990s. Today, it remains the predominant method for cabling devices using electric fields and metallic slurries to polish metals under low pressures.
